Mendocino Stone Ranch is an exceptionally unique 50-acre estate specializing in dry-stack stone masonry art on the South Mendocino Coast about 2 hours northwest of Santa Rosa. We are situated 2 miles up Fish Rock Road from Highway 1 in Anchor Bay, overlooking the Pacific Ocean from the Gualala Ridge in between Gualala and Point Arena. We are also 58 miles south of Fort Bragg.
Our lovely ranch features around 35 one-of-a-kind, larger-than-life stone masonry art installations handcrafted by artisan stone masons over 20 years, on 50 acres of redwood transitional forest linked by trails. In addition to our larger than life stone masonry art installations, the ranch has numerous stone patios that are perfect for dinners, dancing and cocktail parties. There are two luxury homes that sleep 20 and an off-grid yurt with an adjacent portable bathroom pod. In total, the ranch sleeps up to 26 people. On the south side of the property which spans 40 acres, the expansive views of the Pacific Ocean from the Adobe House and the Fish Rock Watchtower stretch as far as the eye can see. The north side of the property spans 10 acres, features the 5 bedroom Redstone House nestled in the redwood forest, and offers 15 stone art installations to explore, a stone pizza oven, a Manzanita Pond and our native plant garden.
Known hyper-locally as the "Mendocino Stone Zone" for many years since 2002, the ranch was founded by an eccentric patron of the stone arts, Peter J. Mullins. Peter brought world-class stone masons together annually to build at his ranch, which became an ongoing 20-year collaborative project that over 30 stone masons contributed to since 2002. After Peter's unexpected passing in 2022, his daughter Genevieve Mullins founded Mendocino Stone Ranch and opened the property up to the public in 2024.
Mendocino Stone Ranch is open for lodging, weddings/events and tours.
